Houy Pong/Na Sai (Phase 1)
(completed: February 2013)

Picture
Background...

Travel 18km to the north of Luang Prabang and you will find the village of Houy Pong. The village is surrounded by jungle and a stream encircles the community, making access difficult during the monsoon rains. It is the remoteness of the community that makes it one of the least underdeveloped in Chomphet District and the need for basic infrastructural development is great. Access is in the form of a dirt road, or mud road in wet season, with the community at the end of the track.

The Project:
To supply both the villages of Na Sai and Houy Pong with a potable water system to give easy water access to both communities.

This was our outline for the project.

Phase one in Houy Pong/Na Sai (2012), to build a potable water system for the community which would see the installation of 11 taps through out the community with additional in Na Sai. The village is a relatively isolated community and had no access to water taps. The outcome sees the entire populations with access to sufficient and safe water.
